This boat is 38 years. For some reason I think it would be a good thing to apply a new layer of resin to the region of Hull in fiberglass that has been covered by the word. Should we apply a layer of epoxy resin or do we need to use polyester resin with carpet. ideas or experiences this would be appreciated because it is confusing what is the best option. This is exactly the same model boat used in Jim Anderson book Runabout renovation. But some of these products have been improved.

It's always a good idea to seal the inner surface of The polyester shell, especially the bilge, with something. (Just as it is, of course, on a wooden ship). The bilges may become very dirty and often damp places, (even if they do not do it!) And the gelcoat which is used to provide a barrier to moisture penetration on the side outside is absent here. If the work is sustainable, then everything, even classical painting, it's better than nothing. At the other end of the scale, if you ask me what would be the best, I would use the same material used below the waterline to the outer surface of prevention osmosis - without pigmented epoxy, solvent free. But that is very expensive, and more, the less you buy. If you know what I mean. Do not use polyester resin. It is also expensive. It's heavy, viscose, dangerous and a palaver to use, and you would not really gain much - the boat is already in polyester and the point here is to seal this with something more waterproof. And you certainly do not need to add more matte, not less there is some sort of damage. -|--)
